From “La grande Liuteria Italiana” by Artemio Versari
Giulio Degani, son and student of Eugenio, was born in Montagnana in 1875. He began working with his father at an early age. He won prizes in exhibition in Milan in 1894 and 1906, and in Turin in 1898 and 1911. After his father's death, he ran the family workshop by himself. In 1922 he moved to the United States and stayed there till his death in 1955. His early production was refined and strongly influenced by his father's style. But his later production was also appreciated for being more modern and more homegeneous in style than his previous work.
