Giovanni Battista Gabrielli is undoubtedly one of the greatest makers of the Tuscan school. His instruments are quite refined and some characteristics include fine edges, accented archings, and f-holes that clearly show the influence of Jacob Stainer. The yellow hued varnish is soft, brilliant and transparent. His limited production is not well known and merits greater appreciation.
